Shenzhen Airlines Offers More Flights in Pearl River Delta to Help Build Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area

With China releasing an outline development plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Shenzhen Airlines, which grows together with Shenzhen and is strongly rooted in the Pearl River Delta, will continue to expand business in the aviation market in the Greater Bay Area and help build an air corridor for trade and cultural exchanges between the Greater Bay Area and the outside world. Shenzhen Airlines currently operates 199 flights in the Greater Bay Area on a daily basis, including 51 overnight flights. Transporting some 9.44 million passengers in 2018, Shenzhen Airlines will continue to increase investments in its key bases at Guangzhou and Shenzhen and actively explore the aviation markets in Zhuhai and Huizhou. Shenzhen Airlines expects to offer a daily average of 210 flights in the Greater Bay Area by 2020.
Besides expanding business in the Guangzhou and Shenzhen markets, Shenzhen Airlines will add flights between Shenzhen and Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing and Hangzhou, and increase capacity in Northeast China, North China, Northwest China, Central China, East China and Southwest China. Shenzhen Airlines operates one daily flight from Hong Kong to Wuxi and from Macao to Wuxi, and twice-daily flights from Hong Kong to Quanzhou. The company launched its first intercontinental route, from Shenzhen to London, on Oct. 30, 2018. It has also added flights in the Northeast Asia and Southeast Asia markets.
In a bid to expand business in the aviation markets in Zhuhai and Huizhou, Shenzhen Airlines has built a base in Zhuhai and added three overnight flights there. It has also added flights from Zhuhai to Yuncheng, Wuxi, Nanjing, Changzhou, Xiangyang, Quanzhou, Hefei, Changchun, Shenyang, and Nantong, and from Huizhou to Nanchang, Xi'an, Wenzhou and Zhanjiang.
Going forward, Shenzhen-based Shenzhen Airlines will continue to enhance its route network and strive to become a leading aviation company with an expansive network covering Asia and other continents. It will continue to increase capacity investment in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, help promote the development of aviation-related economic zones in Shenzhen and Guangzhou, help the Greater Bay Area build an aviation hub and transportation infrastructure, grow together with the Greater Bay Area, and contribute more to its construction and development.
