Standard Free Checked Baggage Allowance and Fee Schedule for Excess Baggage
I. Definition
"Baggage" refers to necessary or appropriate items and other personal belongings carried by passengers for wearing, use, comfort, or convenience during travel.
"Checked baggage" refers to baggage that passengers have entrusted to Shenzhen Airlines for custody and transportation, and for which a baggage identification tag has been issued.
"Baggage transportation segment" refers to the journey from the passenger's baggage check-in point to the next intermediate transfer point.
II. Applicable Routes
This standard applies to the transportation of standard checked baggage on domestic, international, and regional routes where the entire journey is operated by Shenzhen Airlines under its own flight number.
III. Principles for Selecting Free Checked Baggage Allowance
(I) Newly Issued Tickets
1. Tickets for flights actually operated by Shenzhen Airlines
For Shenzhen Airlines baggage transportation, the weight-based system applies to domestic flights, while the piece-based system is used for international flights.The free checked baggage allowance shall be determined by the automatic calculation results of Global Distribution Systems (GDS).
2. Charter flights
Passenger baggage allowances shall follow the relevant provisions specified in the charter agreement.
(II) Ticket Changes
1. Voluntary ticket changes:
(1) If the entire ticket is unused and a new ticket number is issued upon reissuance, the free checked baggage allowance applicable on the date of change shall apply. If the ticket is rebooked for free without reissuance (no new ticket number generated), the free checked baggage allowance applicable on the original date of sale shall apply.
(2) For partially used tickets with voluntary changes, the free checked baggage allowance applicable on the original date of sale shall apply.
2. Involuntary ticket changes:
(1) For involuntary changes between service classes within the same cabin, the free checked baggage allowance remains unchanged.
(2) For involuntary upgrades or downgrades of cabin service class, the free checked baggage allowance shall be determined based on the original cabin service class standard.
(III) For code-share and interline flights, the free checked baggage allowance shall be determined by the automatic calculation results of Global Distribution Systems (GDS).
IV. Restrictions on Standard Checked Baggage
(I) Size restrictions for each piece of standard checked baggage
The sum of the length, width, and height of each piece of standard checked baggage must be no less than 60 cm (24 in) and no more than 203 cm (80 in), including wheels and handles.
(II) Size limitations for each piece of complimentary checked baggage
For domestic flights, each piece of complimentary checked baggage must not exceed 100 cm (39 in) in length, 60 cm (24 in) in width, and 40 cm (16 in) in height, or the sum of its length, width, and height must not exceed 203 cm (80 in), including wheels and handles.
For international/regional flights, the sum of the length, width, and height of each piece of complimentary checked baggage must not exceed 158 cm (62 in), including wheels and handles. Checked baggage on international/regional flights exceeding the above size limitations will incur excess baggage charges.
For domestic flights forming part of international transportation, checked baggage size limitations shall follow those applicable to international/regional flights.
(III) Weight limit per piece of checked baggage
The weight of each piece of checked baggage must not be less than 2 kg or 4 lbs.
The maximum weight of each piece of checked baggage must not exceed 32 kg or 70 lbs.
Baggage exceeding the above weight limits must be split or transported as cargo. The above baggage weight limits are not part of the free baggage allowance. Passengers must pay excess baggage fees for any weight exceeding the free allowance.
V. Standard Free Checked Baggage Allowance
Shenzhen Airlines applies the weight-based system for standard checked baggage on domestic routes. VI. Excess Charges for Standard Checked Baggage
When a passenger's baggage does not comply with the free baggage policy or exceeds the weight, size, or quantity limits of the free checked baggage allowance, the passenger shall pay an excess baggage fee or special baggage fee, which will be calculated based on the origin and destination of the checked baggage transportation segment.
Shenzhen Airlines applies a weight-based charging system for excess ordinary checked baggage on domestic routes, and a piece-based charging system for international and regional routes. VII. Baggage Fee Handling Procedures
(I) Flight Change:
Collected baggage fees can be refunded through the original purchase channel if unused, with no service fee charged. Passengers shall pay baggage fees again based on the new itinerary.
(II) Change of Itinerary or Service Class Upgrade/Downgrade

VIII. Miscellaneous
(I) Passengers occupying extra seats
The free checked baggage allowance for passengers occupying extra seats shall be determined based on the fare class and the number of seats occupied.
(II) Baggage occupying extra seats
No free checked baggage allowance shall be granted for baggage occupying extra seats.
(III) Stretcher passengers
1. Weight-based routes: Stretcher passengers are entitled to 60 kg (132 lbs) of free checked baggage. Each piece must not exceed 100 cm (40 in) in length, 60 cm (24 in) in width, and 40 cm (16 in) in height.
2. Piece-based routes: Stretcher passengers are entitled to 3 pieces of free checked baggage, with each piece not exceeding 23 kg (50 lbs) and the sum of its three dimensions not exceeding 158 cm (62 in).
