Latest Notice on Regulation of Entry from China to Japan
Dear passengers,
According to the notice on the website of the Embassy of Japan in China, from March 1, 2023 (Japan Standard Time):
I. Passengers from China (except Hong Kong and Macao) flying directly to Japan, regardless of whether they hold a valid vaccination certificate or not, must show a negative nucleic acid test report issued within 72 hours before departure, and the arriving passengers will be sampled for testing. Also, passengers who do not have a valid test report will not be allowed to board the plane that departs from China.
II. Apart from the aforementioned requirement:
1. Passengers entering Japan (including Japanese citizens) who do not have a valid vaccination certificate must provide a negative nucleic acid test report issued within 72 hours before departure (from the time the sample is collected to the time of departure) and show a test certificate issued by a medical institution. To make an appointment for a nucleic acid test, please ensure the sample will be collected using a nasopharyngeal swab, and all the testing items shall be presented in Japanese or English. Those who fail to present a valid vaccination certificate or test certificate will not be allowed to enter Japan. Moreover, passengers who do not have the required certificates will not be allowed to board the plane in the country of departure.
