1. Unilateral visa-free policy

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that nationals of countries eligible for unilateral visa-free entry holding ordinary passports may enter China without a visa for business, tourism, family or friend visits, exchanges, or transit, for stays not exceeding 30 days. The stay period starts at 00:00 on the day after entry.

2. Transit visa-free policy

China has implemented a 240-hour (10-day) transit visa-free policy for 55 countries including the United States, Russia, and the United Kingdom. People from relevant countries who hold their valid international travel documents and connecting tickets with confirmed dates and seats may enter China without a visa from any of the 60 open ports in 24 provinces when transiting through China to a third country or region, and stay in the designated area for no more than 10 days. During the stay, activities such as tourism, business, visits, and family reunions are permitted. However, for activities requiring prior approval, such as employment, study, or news reporting, a valid visa is still required.

3. Mutual visa-free policy

China has signed visa-free agreements with some countries. Foreign nationals who meet the visa-free conditions (mainly for ordinary passports) may "stay no more than 30 days at a time and no more than 90 days in total within every 180 days".
